Pity

There she is, seated at the far corner of the counter, slouched into her thirteenth
cup of coffee. From her point of view, it was a bad year. First that deadbeat
Ralphie ran off and took all their money, then Johnny, the one that’s seventeen,
got in trouble with the law for stealing hubcaps, and fourteen year old BettySue
that’s built like a brick shit house got knocked up, and then the chimney caught
on fire and burned down half the house..... well, ever since, she’s been like this.
Mopey. We give her all the coffee she can inhale for free, and fix her truck so
it runs when it don’t want to.
