Obstinacy

Walls have been built across the highway.
Unmovable. There is no detour and all
the small planes have been rented.

Reason does not move a wall. Nor does
crying and wailing and Biblical gnashing of teeth.
It hurts your hands to bang on it,
disables your foot if you kick.

That wall will stand there until the Second Coming.
It will outlast us all.
